I woke up at about 4am and couldn't get back to sleep until almost 6, then crawled out of bed at just after 9, in time for mum to call and let me know she'll be here in 'about thirty minutes'. Three quarters of an hour later, after wobbling badly in the shower, I was ready to go and waiting for her to get here, wondering why on earth I couldn't stand up straight. o.O I decided it must be a case of too much blood in my caffeine stream, but knew there wouldn't be time to make myself a cup.
Mum had called me yesterday to ask some advice on preparing a job application. Considering how long it's been since I've had a 'good job', it's a wonder that she'd call
me, but then, she hasn't applied for a job since the stone age, so... I recommended she get on to my friend Maud, at WorkSkills, who is such a pro at preparing such things, and just a treasure of a person to talk with. A great laugh. Shaun was there when we went today, so he and I caught up while mum filled in a resume kit. I thought of suggesting she see Shaun to do her job application, but I had a feeling Mum would engage better with Maud. I went in with her and... we did some laughing. :D

I was feeling kinda... weird, though. Glad to be sitting down, and having to stand up slowly. I still figured it was just a case of needing my morning coffee, or something to eat, so we decided to celebrate mum's new resume with a trip to PASSIONS! You know how I love that place.
Mum had a nummy BLT and I indulged in a slice of spinach and feta pie that was
so good!
Kermit was there, but he didn't have much to say.

But, while I was forking pie into my face, Helen came in (on her day off), and her eyes lit up when she saw me, all conspiratorial like. "Oh Amy!" she said, "I have something for you!" Then vanished out the back. A few minutes later she emerged with two small bags of tea with little red ribbons, stating with great gravity, "I got a call from Kimberly a while ago.. From America!"
"Kimberly?" I was a bit mystified, I must admit. I know Kim is a Kimberly, but she's always been Kim to me. "Wait.. Kim?"
Apparently someone I know -
kgrier - has been a monumental cheekypants and called my favourite watering hole to conspire with my lovely friends there. The result was me all aglow and smiling like a damned fool for a FULL HOUSE (lunchtime rush). Not that anyone was paying much attention, but I felt all 'speshul' and such.

How lucky am I to have such wonderful friends?! No, really?!
Helen played the ham and posed with my tea, deciding they look like Leia's hair buns.. She's such a dag and I love her to bits. <3333
I wish Em was there. It's her birthday today, and she would have been the icing on MY cake, I can only hope we'd have done something wonderful for her, too!
Anyway, mum went to Banjo's to buy some bread and I stuck my head into Brownings to eye some yarn briefly and thank the manager there for some books she'd donated to me, but as I was leaving I had a scary dizzy spell and held up some traffic trying to cross the road. Mum caught up with me and as we got into the car, my heart was racing.
We went grocery shopping and somewhere around the spaghetti aisle I had to sit down beside my trolley. Mum thinks it's probably my blood sugar, and she's probably right. Still, it really put a damper on a great start to my day.
She came over to my place to fine tune her resume and such, and I introduced her to the wonder that is Ravelry; she thinks it's a lovely idea, and I've promised to share any patterns I buy/download for myself, with the proviso that she help me figure them out.
I had more to say but I'm feeling a bit light headed again so I'll cut this short.
